The Upper Chesapeake Chorus

The Upper Chesapeake Chorus sings four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style and is one of central Maryland's premier performance groups. It is a member of Atlantic Bay-Mountain Region 19 of Sweet Adelines International (SAI) under the direction of Cydney Wentsel, certified director.

Upper Chesapeake is an achievement-oriented chorus, consistently ranked in the top five among 27 Sweet Adeline choruses in a region which includes Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. Music education, vocal production and performance skills, for both individual and ensemble singing, are a major focus of the chorus, which combines learning a cappella four-part harmony, performances, and annual competition to create a musical hobby which is both challenging and rewarding. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings. For additional information, please call Debbie Verbillis at 410 638-6802 or the UCC Hot Line at 410/638-0777.

Music is our art. Harmony is our craft.

The Upper Chesapeake Chorus is supported by a grant from the Harford County Government through the Harford County Cultural Advisory Board and through a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency funded by the state of Maryland and the National Endowment for the Arts.
