quartets participating, we sang at more than 48 locations.
For our first attempt we were very successful.
As the chorus grew, not only in membership but in community service,
we started looking for opportunities to help out. On July 2, 1993, Phillips
University paid off their debt to the community and celebrated by having
the chorus as part of the entertainment for the evening. The chorus sang
six songs and the quartets each sang two.
In 1994 the chapter obtained their third sanctioned quartet known as
"Noble Aspirations". On the evening the quartet announced their formation,
the chapter threw a party. The party involved copious amounts of food and
drink, and lots of good family entertainment. As the evening went on, we
all |
sang, going from table to table in the local gazebo.
As for goals for the future, we believe the positive comments received
about our 1995 show have inspired our members to reach for a higher level
in our singing quality. We know that we can accomplish more and better
things in barbershopping if we work at it. Our 1995 show was by far the
best we have had in a number of years, mainly because we wanted to sing
better and we did. Next on the menu is to bring in new members and to keep
improving our singing.
