Town North was originally chartered as the Garland
chapter in October of 1958 with 26 strong willed men. We should have called
it "cornucopia" because no matter what was needed, somebody always stood
up and said "I will do it!" And he would.
The Townsmen have competed every year and in 1971, with 46 men on stage,
placed 2nd in a very tough district contest. In 1976, with 69 men on stage
we were again 2nd with our director of 20 years, Ralph Ribble.
Over the years we've had some great directors such as Ray Anthony,
Bob Gilmore, Landon Maples, Jim Casey, Bill Thornton, Anthony Pennington,
Dennis Devenport and Rob Hague-Rogers.
