In spite of the age differences (each was about five years apart) they
always got along like brothers. They considered themselves very lucky to
have found such good friends through song and to have had the privilege
to entertain so many people while they were also having fun.
Deane Watson was killed in an automobile accident |
on October 25, 1985. Dick Gifford retired from
KTVT-TV in Fort Worth as National Sales Manager and is still active with
the local chorus. Wendell Heiny is retired and living in Denver after many
years as office manager for the Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home and spends
his spare time tuning pianos. Dwight Elliott, who replaced Wendell as office
manager, has also retired and still lives in Amarillo. |
