Golden Memories  SWD International Quartet Champions
The Four Hearsmen
included hours of reminiscing and singing. In spite of the age differences (each was about five years apart) they always got along like brothers. They considered themselves very lucky to have found such good friends through song and to have had the privilege to entertain so many people while they were also having fun.
Deane Watson was killed in an automobile accident
on October 25, 1985. Dick Gifford retired from KTVT-TV in Fort Worth as National Sales Manager and is still active with the local chorus. Wendell Heiny is retired and living in Denver after many years as office manager for the Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home and spends his spare time tuning pianos. Dwight Elliott, who replaced Wendell as office manager, has also retired and still lives in Amarillo.
