Our chapter has also received the Chuck Abernethy Award (outstanding large chapter) for 1984 and 1991.

 The chapter's strength in music comes primarily from the leadership of Jim Massey, our chorus director since 1963. Jim has long been recognii:ed for his talent. He provides leadership to the district and Society through years of coaching, including the 1993 Gold Medalists, GAS HOUSE GANG, Harmony College faculty, Director's College faculty, Southwestern District Harmony Ranch faculty.
Jim holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in music, he has been the lead of the Southwestern District Quartet Champion, Southwestern District Comedy Quartet Champion, and Society reknowned comedy quartet the OK 4 for 32 years. He also repeatedly competes in quartet contests with an ever evolving foursome WOODSHED, which over the years, has gotten dozens of men involved in quartet singing.
