Despite the normal rise and fall of membership when have reached the 49 members and look forward to topping that mark someday. We're proud to be the FIRST Southwestern District chapter to give over $50.00 per man to Logopedics. We also proud to have been selected as the Outstanding Small Chapter in the Southwestern District in 1983. Several of our members have served the district. Varney Varnado and Dick Rogers have served as Area Counselors and Dick Rogers was once District Logopedics Chairman. Two other men have served this chapter in an outstanding manner, Harold WIlliams has served |
as president for five years and been one of the inspirational
leaders of the chapter. Harold also served as Membership VP very effectively
as well as doing many other things to help the chapter. Asa Hoffpauir served
as President for three years and as Show Chairman for ten years, he also
has served the chapter in many other ways.
Our chapter quartets have also served us well. Talk of The Town won the division III championship in 1987 and 1988 and the Upper Classmen kept the trophy in the chapter winning it the next four years, 1989 through 1992. In 1990 The Upper Classmen placed 4th at District and The Crawdads won the Southwestern District Comedy Quartet Championship. |
