The fact that Cash loved quartets is not to say he didn't like choruses as shown in this article from the August 1946 Harmonizer:

Founder Urges Choruses

Organization of choruses in chapters has been called by our Founder O.C. Cash the best development since the Society came into existence in 1938.0. C. urges that this phase of chapter activity be emphasized especially with regard to chapters just being organized. (taken from 1946 Harmonizer)

In fact, the International Championship Chorus Trophy given to the best chorus each year is named in honor of our founder: "The Owen C. Cash Memorial Trophy".
 
The Cash family had a ranch outside Tulsa where O.C. enjoyed riding his horses and relaxing. He looked forward to retiring to Arkansas, opening up a small law practice and writing books on Oklahoma history and exploring his interests in the Civil War. Many believe he would have made an excellent history professor for a small college somewhere or an


exceptional public relations man.  O.C. attended the International Convention in Detroit in the summer of 1953. He thrilled to see his original idea had grown from 26 men on the rooftop of the Tulsa Club to 590 chapters, 24,000 members and an estimated 2000 quartets in only 15 years.

On his return, Corinne noticed he was not in good health and she admitted him to the hospital on June 17. He was later dlagnosed with pancreatic cancer. O.C. Cash died at St. John's Hospital on August 15,1953 at the age of 61. He was laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. The Flying L Ranch quartet (Dr. Bob McCullough, Gene Earl, George McCaslin, and Fred Graves) sang "Jesus Savior, Pilot Me" at the funeral.  His Pastor, Dr. H. Grant Mason of the Second Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, said during Cash's eulogy:

O.C.'s might be considered superficial by
some buy it actually was the expression of
the desire in the human
