     Glenn Hutton, Jr., the 1959 Southwestern Barbershopper of the Year and former President of the Fort Worth Chapter, moved to Arlington in 1961 and began organizing a chapter there immediately. After three meetings at his home, the group moved to a Boys' Club facility, and then to the old Arlington City Hall building. Sponsored by the Fort Worth chapter, the Arlington chapter was chartered on April 27, 1962, with 32 members. Glenn was the first president, and the chorus director for the first five years. This mid-cities chorus was very active during its first year with local performances, and an appearance on the first show of the Golden Triangle chapter, which Glenn had helped organize in Grand Prairie in 1961.  The highlight of the year was a chartered bus trip by 19 members to New Orleans to participate in the 1962 Southwestern District Fall Contest &          Convention. Since 20 members were required on stage to be eligible, the bus driver was recruited.
He learned the words and notes to "Time After Time" and "Roll Out Of Bed With A Smile" while driving to New Orleans, and sang with the chorus on stage  (He is the big guy with the big smile top row right in the photo). What a way to start!
            The chapter staged an annual show each year, and sang out locally during the next three years with Tom Gibbs, Morris Stephenson and Frank Sharp presiding. But as usually happens with a small, new chapter, membership was declining in 1966 when Al Narramore was president. The Golden Triangle chapter was also in a slump and only 5 miles away. So during his term Al finalized an agreement to combine the Golden Triangle chorus membership with Arlington, accepting the active charter members of the Golden Triangle chorus as
