Gleanings From The Mailbag

Bulletin Happenings

Editor Clary Reinhardt, Fox Tales, Fox Valley (Little Chute), Wis., sent me his bulletin with one of the new clip art being used. Clary's is the first one I received, which is good to see that the clip art is being used. What does Clary win for being the first? I'll buy him (his wife, too) lunch should we ever meet at a barbershop event.

The Greater New Orleans Chapter goes all out for recognizing chapter members. Not only is there a Barbershopper of the Year, but they also have the Rookie Barbershopper of the Year, the Joe Barbershopper of the Year and the Senior Barbershopper of the Year. Based on the lines of copy given each recipient, the regular Barbershopper of the Year is given the greatest recognition. This came from The Doubloon, John Manion, editor.

From all of the bulletins I've read over the past several years about Singing Valentines, this was a first. Allan Anderson, editor of the Water Log, Fergus Falls, Minn., Chapter, told of local business involvement. "We received excellent cooperation from Designs by Dave, Community First Bank and Wal-Mart (who supplied cameras and film), Falls Automotive, Minnesota Motors and Nelson Ford (who loaned us vans to transport the quartets)." It would be interesting to know if any other chapters had similar participation by local businesses.
