Awards:
2005 Ontario District Senior's Champs:
Each April, the Ontario District of the Barbershop Harmony Society hosts
a
convention at which there are both Chorus and Quartet contests. For
quartets, there are three contests within one. The primary contest is
held
to select a quartet(s) that will represent Ontario at the Society's
Int'l
contest the following July. Within that, Senior's quartets compete for
the
title of Ontario District Senior's Champs. And lastly, quartets
comprised
of members who are students under age 25, compete for the title of
College
Champs, and would then represent Ontario in July as well. A quartet
that
qualifies, can in fact compete for all three titles, or two or simply
one.
Play It Again! won the Senior's title in 2005 in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
2006 International Bronze Medalists:
Each January, the Barbershop Harmony Society holds a winter convention,
and among the activities is included a contest to crown the Senior's Champs
of
the Barbershop world. To qualify as a Senior's quartet, each member
must be
at least 55 years of age, and the cumulative age must be at least 240
years.
The Society's contest includes invitations to Barbershoppers worldwide,
and
consequently, Play It Again! has competed against quartets from Britain,
Sweden, Australia and New Zealand, as well as Americans.
In preparation for this, each District of the Society, and Affiliation
Organizations, hold qualifying contests. For Ontario, that takes place
each
October. In 2005, PIA! won that contest, and qualified to represent
Ontario
in Sacramento, CA, in January 2006. They placed fourth in this contest,
garnering them a bronze medal. Bronze is presented to quartets placing
third thru fifth. 2008, in San Antonio, PIA! will be representing
Ontario
for the fifth consecutive year.

2006 Larry Ajer Scholarship Recipients:
Each year the Barbershop Harmony Society awards a scholarship to one
quartet
to attend Quartet College, at Harmony University in St. Joseph's, MO.
The Larry Ajer Endowment Fund was established in loving memory of Larry
Ajer, a long-time barbershopper and selfless contributor to our Society.
Larry was devoted to providing quartets with opportunities to become
better,
more effective and entertaining performers in the art of barbershop
harmony.
Play It Again! was the first Senior's quartet to receive this honour,
and
attended Quartet College in August, 2006.
