The Sound of the Foothills Chorus
is the performing, traveling and competing chorus of the North Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.  Established by a small group of singers in 1993, the chorus has created and sustained a culture of musical excellence in the greater Butte County community while fostering a culture of musical fun for chapter members.

In addition to hosting and performing in the November “Harmony Explosion” Concerts, making numerous community appearances, singing for many Christmas events and Valentines’ Day “Singing Valentines”, the chorus is also an accredited high school performance class in the Paradise School District.  Butte County high school male singers are offered full credit for taking part in chorus activities.  The Sound of the Foothills Chorus has granted thousands of dollars to area schools over the years for their music programs and scholarships.

2006 marked the 12th consecutive year that the chorus qualified for the Far Western District Fall Competition, an unequaled record in the four Western state region.  The three day competition and convention took place in The San Jose Convention Center and involved more than 2000 singers.
