The Men In Harmony Chorus was started in 2010 and is comprised of members from all around the Central Kansas area.  From Salina to Wichita, Hutchinson to Newton and all parts in between, we share in the education and encouragement of area singers, both young and old, while elevating our members to the peak of each individual’s personal vocal ability.  Individual members are encouraged to participate to the fullest extent they can and to grow their musical expertise.

 

The Men In Harmony are very active in the Central Kansas communities, performing for a variety of private and public events.  Our musical repertoire covers a variety of musical tastes, from typical barbershop songs to more contemporary numbers – Dixie to Patriotic – Gospel to Jazz.

Show Debuts Kansas Wesleyan Grad as Assistant Director

 

McPherson/Newton/Salina -- The Central Kansas Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society will be performing a vocal concert presentation called “Heaven Can Wait” on November 3, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.  We are officially debuting our Assistant Director, Mr. Michael Tate, a Kansas Wesleyan graduate.  The chorus is excited to have the Sensations from Salina South Middle School as our special guests for our second half of the show. 

 

While there is a movie presentation with the same title, this is a bit different.  This is about a ‘gent who falls asleep, only to wake up at the Pearly Gates, in the presence of St. Peter, where together they review the fellow's life to that time by musical remembrances.

 

Now, before anyone dismisses Barbershop as being a moldy, oldy, outdated venue – shall we say: "judge not"..?    This is not the Barbershop music of your grandparents.   This is tried and true harmonies applied to contemporary songs.  There is also a generous line up of some Gospel favorites amidst secular tunes.

 

In this day and age where entertainment venues are of questionable moral fiber, to say the least, this is good ol' "G" rate family entertainment.  So, this is a great way to do something different as a group, or even as individuals, you might want to consider giving this a try.
