"YOU'VE GOT MAIL" SOUNDS!
Here are some downloadable sounds for your E-mail program,
created by
our friend and fellow barbershopper, Petah Trist. You can replace
your mail sound with these WAV files and hear Metropolis
singing "You've Got Mail" - besides good ol' barbershop,
there are a few different types of tags, here, so have fun!
In order to install these in place of your
AOL "You've Got Mail" sound,
you'll want to identify the location (which folder) and name of the WAV file
that AOL uses for this sound. Typically, the file is named "gotmail.wav".
Then, rename that file to something else (i.e., "gotmail2.wav") then,
rename
one of these sounds to the AOL filename and place it in the same location
as the file you just renamed. You may have to reboot your computer after
these changes have been completed, but once the program is run again,
you should be able to hear the sound the next time some mail arrives!
