A MATTER OF FACT   One of my first originals, a delightful rag-time love song with some clever rhyming and interesting rhythmic treatment. This song was sung with great success by the Evergreen District small-chorus champion Rainier Valley Harmonizers in the 2005 District Contest. This one is free. Click here to download the score.

THOSE DAYS ARE OVER   A sweet old nostalgia song from 1922. Arrangement revised Nov 2007. Also free, click here for the score.

THOSE DAYS ARE OVER (SHORT) This version skips the reprise and goes straight to the tag. Click here for the score.

DOWN AROUND THE RIVER   Come on down to the Waterfront Cabaret for a rockin' good time! Solid barbershop, great contest song!

MY LOVE SONG, MY ROSES AND YOU  A beautiful ballad from 1919 in the traditional barbershop style. Excellent for contest. The cover on the original sheet music is so pretty, I thought I'd share it. Click here.

DREAM A LITTLE DREAM OF ME (!)  Nice easy groove version of the great Mama Cass hit.

I'M GOIN' BACK TO LOUISIANA   A swinging rendition of a 1913 classic. Features a wailin' Dixieland tag!

MISTER RAILROAD MAN "...won't you take me back to Alabam! "  A driving up-tune with clever key and tempo changes.

LET'S PRETEND THAT WE'RE IN LOVE  Another original, a rollicking adventure in fantasy!

HARMONY JOE   A rag-time piano player trying to make it in the Big Apple. Driving uptune with a positive message!

JAZZIN' THE BLUES AWAY  Rowdy, rambunctious, wild and crazy ... a powerful contest number! Sung by Alchemy at International 2006.

DO IT AGAIN  An early George Gershwin tune, solid swinger and strong contest number!

GEORGIA HONEYMOON    You just can't have enough love songs or songs about the South, and this one fits both categories!

SLIPPERY SAM    A wailin' Dixie trombone man down home in "Bluesiana".  Hot two-beat tempo and jaunty rhythms recapture the high-steppin' spirit of the old-time New Awlins street bands. Yeah, you right, Cap!

NESTLE IN YOUR DADDY'S ARMS   A cute and cuddly little song in a lightly swinging style. My winner in the 2003 Lou Perry Contest.

THE CORNER BARBERSHOP  A cool new twist on the origin of barbershop music. Good for contest or show. For information please contact Corbit Larson,  captaincorb@rcn.com

'CROSS THE MASON-DIXON LINE   A great hit for the Pacificaires in the '70's and for Nightlife in the '90's. This arrangement shows my personal touch, with original intro and tag.

A MILLION MILES FROM NOWHERE   Here's a good old "home and Mother" song from 1919. Sweet and simple, with plenty of good ringers.

MY OLD BARBERSHOP PALS   An original inspired by my impressions of Harmony College 2002, and dedicated to the memory of Dr. Val Hicks. ....." it will be so sweet again when we meet again with Joe and Freddie and Val ... for those happy times with my old barbershop pals"

YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN   This short and sweet little love song gets right to the point in a raucous vaudeville style.

FRIDAY NIGHT IN DIXIE   A real toe-tappin', two-steppin' tune about good ol' boys, honky-tonks, steel guitars, and dancin' on the tables. Reminds me of my days as a country bass picker.

SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY  Pokes a little good-natured fun at the Southern lifestyle, like many a Ray Stevens song.

THERE'S A PLACE   An original ballad that touches on my own sentiments about home.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO MISS NEW AWLEENS (!) This good old ballad just drips wit' dat sweet down-home flavor.

STRIKE UP THE BAND (!)  A swinging arrangement of a great standard. Sung by Pacific Coast Harmony at International 2006.

PICK YOURSELF UP (!)  This cool arrangement is just waiting for a great chorus to pick it up and run with it!

IT'S A LOVELY DAY TODAY (!)  Premiered by Heyday at International 2003.

LOVE IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER (!)  Sung by NeXus at International 2006.

FANCY YOU FANCYING ME  A rare find from 1916, done in a swinging uptempo arrangement. An excellent A-level contest song!

THAT MESMERIZING MENDELSSOHN TUNE  A rare gem by Irving Berlin, with delightfully clever lyrics set to a well-known melody by Felix Mendelssohn.

JAZZ ME BLUES  Captures the very essence of that good ol' Crescent City shuffle that's so dear to my heart.  A barn-burner of a chart, worthy of the greatest of quartets! Learning tracks now available from Tim Waurick, http://www.timtracks.com

NOT YET  Another rare discovery, an early Jerome Kern song about the frustrations of a young suitor. This arrangement adds a little ironic twist.

ANOTHER RAGGY RAG  A challenging arrangement, but great fun. Wild and wacky, a real attention-getter! Now being sung by Hot Shots!
