of Harmony North Chorus |
| Harmony North Chorus began as an initiative of 7 women who
wanted to form a Sweet Adeline Chorus in the Georgian Triangle area.
The membership drive was launched in the fall of 1997 and since then
has grown to a current membership of 45 singers. Members travel from
the communities of Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Thornbury, Clarksburg,
Meaford, Feversham, Dundalk, Owen Sound and Walter's Falls. |

Doris Waite has been with us since our inception and is one of
the founding members. She joined Sweet Adelines in 1980 and has been
directing since 1984. She received her Certified Director Status in
1988.
Originally born and raised in Toronto, Doris moved to the Owen Sound
area in 1979 with her husband Al. They have two boys, aged 22 and 18.
Al runs a cow/calf operation on the farm where they live. Doris
trained as a Dental Hygienist and has worked in the same orthodontic
office since she arrived in Owen Sound 26 years ago.
Sweet Adelines saved her life! She said that without the wonderful
outlet of singing and the learning opportunities that are offered
through Sweet Adelines International, she would have gone crazy.
Making the adjustment from city life to living in the country was
tough and the passion of this hobby helped to make the transition much
easier. |

musical entertainment from a full show with chorus and quartets to
chorus only to quartet only. We have a large repertoire with a variety

| Come and visit us! We meet each Wednesday from 7:00 till 9:30 p.m.
at the Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg. Come out and enjoy a fun evening
of fellowship and music. |
