The High Country Harmonizers barbershop chorus was begun in the fall of 2000 by two long time Barbershoppers.  Today, the group has expanded to more than thirty members and continues to grow.

In 2001, we received our license and charter and are now an official chapter of

Blairesville,Ga. Civic Center 2003Each year, we perform at several civic functions along with singing Christmas carols at senior citizen centers in the area.  We also attend the annual Gospel Fest in Cherokee County, North Carolina.  (Click on picture at left to enlarge.)

In 2002, we held our first concert in the Ellijay grade school auditorium, which wasUstaBees Barbershop Quartet filled almost to its 600 seat capacity.  Along with our chorus, who performed to a theme of Patriotism, we were honored to play host to three extremely talented quartets: Fred, Them, and our very own Usta Bees.  Since then, we have had a new concert every year.

MISSION STATEMENT

For the High Country Harmonizers Barbershop Chorus
Members of SPEBSQSA Barbershop Harmony Society

The Mission of the High Country Harmonizers Barbershop Chorus is to establish pride and enjoyment by all members of our chorus by developing a meaningful appreciation and skill in the art of barbershop harmony.

This mission will be accomplished by providing a respectful and dignified atmosphere in order to help educate men of all ages so they may better learn and improve these skills.

Success of this mission will be measured by the amount of satisfaction, appreciation and good will shown by ourselves, the general public and the community when our members are called upon to perform.
