The Scene Each Halloween
by James B. McCarthy

You can feel it in your bones,
some folks even hide in their homes.

You can feel it 'specially at night
when the moon is shining bright.

Can't you feel the witches tuggin'
the goblins and ghosts a huggin'.

Can't you feel them hovering over?
Seems to happen every October.

Strange noises, pots and pans ....
it's Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolf Man!!!

Children dressed up in their scariest,
could it be they're from Aquarius?

Folks open the door to kids so dandy
rarely tricked, they give them the candy.

Wary, scary from the fright,
older, younger, all alike.

Folks treat these kids 'cause they're not mean
and that's the scene each Halloween.
