performer, he put his new talent to use for that company. Unfortunately, Ron was often embarrassed and disappointed by what he was asked to do as far as skits and costumes he was made to wear, so he founded his own company, Brooks Entertainment, in 1996 in order to provide Pittsburgh with first class singing telegrams that are always in good taste. Check out http:IIwww. brooksentertainment.comi for a peak at Ron in some wacky costumes!
Ron's involvement outside of his company includes coaching choruses and quartets within the Barbershop Harmony Society, Sweet Adelines International, and Harmony Incorporated. He also sings in a mixed quartet, lnCahootz, with his wife Lynda. Ron also likes to dabble in pop-music and rock 'n roll as a mentor, manager, and coach for several bands.
Ron, his wife Lynda, and their six-and-a- half year old son, David, live in Saxonburg, Pa just north of Pittsburgh. Somehow Ron manages to be a stay at home dad, get David to his school bus for first grade, be there when David gets home AND run his own busy singing telegram and balloon-delivery company in between.
Ron's love and enthusiasm for music, and his desire to share his God given talent, and what he has learned through his many years of experience, shows every time he works with a group or performs.
Tim joined the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter in September of this year and now is singing bass. While Tim is new to barbershopping, he brings with him a variety of singing experience. In his college days, Tim sang in the Chapel Choir and the Tour Choir. As a member of the Tour Choir, Tim traveled every spring break, sang in churches and traveled to Europe twice during summer breaks for singing performances in churches and other organizations.
Tim also sang with the Bob Locklin Singers, a professional mixed (men & women) singing group who performed songs with acting performance. The group did three performances each year plus at a few other gatherings. Tim reports that this was a real fun group where the men wore red sports coats, white shirts and white pants.
Presently, Tim also sings in the Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church Choir.
Tim is a native Pittsburgher and graduated from Upper St. Clair High School. He presently resides on Maruth Drive in Pittsburgh. A widower, Tim has a twenty four year old daughter, Katy.
Tim worked in Sales Administration at IBM.
Tim credits Dick Hammer with getting him interested in Barbershop singing.
Dick Hammer earned his first "Man of Note" award for bringing Tim in as a member - way to go Dick!
