· Ralph Rock agreed to help Ange Glorioso and Rich Finch clean out the storage room.
· Seven ladies attended the Silent Notes meeting. They will meet again at the picnic.
· A suggested date to invite our chapter counselor was /9/14/04.
· Nominations for Barbershopper of the Quarter should be given to John Power. [note - this program was later dropped due to lack of interest on the part of the members]
· Parker will look into the detailed requirements for us to host the 2005 Eastern Divisional Contest before we agree to submit our request.
· We are not technically locked into Carnegie Music Hall for the 2005 show because we have not yet signed a contract.
· It was agreed to postpone the search for a new director, and invest our energy and support in Rich Stevens for the time being.
Vice President Reports:
· Membership and Development - Ralph Rock has continued to advertise our chapter with posters, but no responses to date.
· Music and Performance - Joe Veltre expressed concern over our plans to sing at various churches this summer. He would not be available every Sunday, and presumably, all the members would not either. He suggested once per month would be workable.
Committee Reports:
·
Show Committee - John Kirwin submitted a detailed report of the 2004 show. Gordon Knapp has not yet scheduled a meeting for the 2005 show.
Unfinished Business:
· Tom Steimer submitted his resignation as Treasurer. Bernie Sinwell will fill in until fall elections. George Mayer expressed interest in the Treasurer position and will be trained in Quicken.
New Business:
· The Bill McLaughlin Charitable Trust Fund has $5000-10,000 available for our chapter. Rich Stevens will look into what we must do to apply.
· Joe Veltre made a motion to drop the July 3 sing- out at Kennywood as no director would be available and not all sections would be adequately represented. [motion was approved]
Good of the Chapter:
· Gordon Knapp suggested we invest in a copy machine. This was rejected due to availability of Mark Pascarella and Gary Corpora to make copies plus the maintenance of owning a machine.
· Rich Stevens made a motion for the chapter to donate $400 to the Indiana County charity (ICW) over which Bill Amos has directed support for years. The motion did not receive a second. Joe Veltre made an alternate motion to donate $250. This was seconded by Gordon Knapp and the motion passed.
· George Kosak provided some observations about the status of our chorus, particularly the Leads [as George is a Lead]. The Leads can't seem to take the pitch properly. In addition, it is his opinion that the chorus has not improved in the last few years and in order to attract new members, we must sing better.
· Bob Parker read part of a letter from Society President, Rob Hopkins. It stated that there is a movement to make some changes in the Society, including the logo and our name. Bob will read the letter to the chapter.
