Random Choice (RC) did several other jobs using their usual membership of Mark Pascarella, Bill Hamilton, Bill Amos and Tom Koch:
Back on Feb. 7th, RC sang at the Verona Presbyterian church at a retirement party for one Keith Osbourne (retiring from PNC Bank). On a "small world" note, turns out that Keith's daughter and Bill Amos' son, Greg, went to school together at Westminister College.
On March 6 , RC sang for "Senior Saturdays" at the Monroeville United Methodists Church. The Senior Saturdays program celebrates the chronologically gifted. Their theme on this particular Saturday was "It's a Jungle Out There." It was interesting to sing to a group of seniors wearing various forms of jungle dress and sporting a variety of stuffed animals on their heads, shoulders, tables, etc.
March 27th, RC participated in the Braddock's Field Historical Society Gospel Fest 2004 at the Braddock Carnegie Library & Music Hall. This particular Carnegie Hall was the first in America; it was dedicated in 1889.
On March 31st, RC sang for residents and guests at the Forbes Road Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The occasion was a celebration of all March birthdays.
Our PVP, Rich Stevens has been trying hard to encourage more quartet singing in our chapter. There may be some signs of increased interest. At our March 9th meeting the Pals Of The Woodshed sang for us. In the photo below (photo not shown) are Tom Palamone Sr., Gene Dadey, Tom Palamone Jr. and Bill Hamilton.
Here at a recent After Glow we had Rich Stevens, Mark Pascarella, Bill Amos and Bob Parker singing as a quartet. Also at a recent meeting, after much coaxing, a quartet made of Bob Parker, Joe Veltre, Jim McCarthy and Bill Amos stepped forward and did a selection. They were followed by Random Choice . Now as a member of RC, I have to mention that we sing at North Hills chapter usually once per month as we are dual members of North Hills. The North Hills chapter is no larger than Greater Pittsburgh but at their monthly "fun night" there are always at least 6 or 7 quartets taking the floor. I wish someone would tell me why we can't get this type of quartet participation at our meetings or after glow. Anyone?
To those of you still reluctant to sing...
Remember this old saying....
"The woods would be very silent indeed,
if only the best birds sang"
