We are delighted that you have visited our website and hope that you will find the information listed here beneficial to your needs.

Grand Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines, Kitchener is a four-part A CAPPELLA chorus singing in the barbershop style and part of the world's largest singing organization for women. The purpose of the organization is to teach and perform the American folk art of four-part harmony, and to encourage a universal appreciation of the tradition of that music.

Sweet Adelines is more than a group of singing women. It is a few hours a week of freedom, a slice of life that is yours alone, a place to let loose with the ladies, build true friendships, and sing your hearts out, and for most, it’s where you can go to find the motivation, inspiration, encouragement and happiness to fill you up for the week.

Choruses like ours can be found all over the Canada, the U.S., Australia, Finland, Germany, Japan, Sweden, New Zealand, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and we continue to expand to other countries. The organization is divided into 32 regions in North America and five worldwide areas. We belong to Region 2, which includes chapters from Southern Ontario and Michigan.

Each spring, the region holds an annual competition in which choruses and registered quartets of the region compete. This is a wonderful experience and all the preparation that goes into our competition package helps us improve our vocal and performing skills. The winners of the regional contests go on to compete at the international level.

Supported by a grant from The Ontario Trillium Foundation
"The Grand Harmony Chapter of Sweet Adelines International gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Culture, which distributes $100 million of government funding each year generated through Ontario's charity casino initiative"
