About Us
Grand Harmony Chorus  of Sweet Adelines International is a dynamic group of over 50 women, dedicated to musical excellence through the education, performance and perfection of the art of four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style.  Grand Harmony Chorus  chartered in March 1995, and continues as a strong, forward thinking chorus.

If you:

  • would like to experience the thrill of performing

then come and visit us at our open rehearsals on a Tuesday evening to experience our style of singing and meet our members from around the area.

Grand Harmony Chorus  aims to provide an opportunity for women to sing for pleasure and develop their vocal technique, with a wide and varied repertoire, from love songs and slow ballads to up-tempo tunes with jazzy syncopated rhythms.

The weekly rehearsals combine exercises to develop the voice range, tonal quality and breath control, with learning new music, polishing repertoire songs, practicing visual performance and choreography. The ability to read music is not essential as tapes are provided to help to learn the voice part. All we ask is the ability to sing in tune with a pleasant, straight tone (no vibrato) and that you enjoy yourself!

Singing is the most ancient form of self-expression and an effective way to counter the everyday stresses of modern life. Come and give us a try!
 
The chorus meets weekly on Tuesday evenings. Rehearsals are held at 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.  In addition, the chorus performs a number of times throughout the year. Some are paid performances while others are community service. Performances vary in length and style to fit the occasion. We love to entertain and performing is what we're all about!

In addition to our main mission, which is singing well, the chorus offers fun and friendship as well as many opportunities to learn and grow. You can increase your knowledge about costuming, choreography, make-up, set design, scripting or learn to be an emcee. If your interests lie in administration, finance, public relations or marketing, perhaps you will want to become a member of the chapter management team. There are many ways to get involved. You may participate at your own level of enthusiasm and availability.
