What is HARMONIZE.COM (Harmonize-dot-com HDC)?

HARMONIZE.COM is a free web server for the barbershop community.

Web Server Software

Microsoft Internet Information Server 3.0 running on a Microsoft 2000 Server.

FrontPage Extensions

The web server supports FrontPage 2000 extensions.

Web Space Requests

To make a request for web space, go to the Services Page.  Due to the high level of activity, we aren't always able to add new accounts.

Web Space Restrictions

None.  All I ask is that the contents of your web space be used for barbershop purposes only.

FTP Instructions

Once you have received your User ID and Password, you can connect to the server via FTP using the following information:

Host Name:  ftp.harmonize.com
User ID: As Provided
Password: As Provided - case sensitive

You must set your FTP program to use ACTIVE mode, not PASSIVE mode.
Once you have connected, you will be placed in your assigned directory and can begin uploading files.

Default Web Page Filename

If a filename is not specified, the server will look for default.htm.  Use this filename for your main (default) page when you create a web site to be placed on the HDC server.

How to Get Listed on the Performers Database

If your web space is on the HARMONIZE.COM server, you will not be automatically added to the Performers database.  This way your incomplete web pages will not be referenced until you indicate that you are ready.

All requests for inclusion in the Performers database should be sent to
HDC master @ harmonize . com (without the spaces).   Please be sure to include the name of the group, web address, organization, district/region and group type (i.e. male chorus) in your request.  Web pages that are NOT hosted by HDC are certainly welcome.

Help Creating Web Pages

Most of today's popular word processing software packages now have the option to export to .HTML format.  There are also many programs written specifically for creating and maintaining web pages.  Any software capable of creating this file type should work appropriately with HDC. We support FTP and FrontPage/Publisher Server-Extensions for publishing your web pages.
