WELCOME to Ethel's website!

Once upon a time... there were three singers - a tenor, a lead, and a baritone. They scoured all the nearby regions for the perfect bass. They met with one, but she sang too high. They met another, but she sang too low. They searched and searched for two long years. Then one day a friend told them of a bass down St. Louie way. The three singers met with her, and she was just right!

So, on January 11, 2009, Ethel was born! That Spring Ethel competed in their first regional competition, placing 6th, and they were very pleased. This led to several shows, and a lot more time spent together. The gals love each other’s company, and they will sing for you at the drop of a hat (preferably a sparkly one).

Ethel is a women's barbershop quartet - part of Sweet Adelines International. Combined, the gals have almost 100 years of experience in the organization. They belong to 2 regions and 5 choruses: Melodeers in Region 3; and Champaign-Urbana, Danville, St. Louis Harmony, and River Blenders in Region 5.

Ethel is having a wonderful time, and we are looking forward to what the future has in store.
