Joe Hudgins
Circa Spring, 1973
Originally from North Carolina, tenor Joe Hudgins began singing with the Dapper Dans in
March of 1973, taking Bob Mathis' place. Joe starred in various Walt Disney World stage
productions and was singing in a madrigal group there when he was recruited to join the
Dapper Dans with no previous barbershop experience. Joe was the first Dapper Dan of
Disney World who was hired from within the park. An accomplished clogger and
tap-dancer, Joe got a baptism of fire, performing on the Orlando Chapter show only a week
after joining the group. Joe was also noted for his tenor obligato Will I Ever Tell You,
soaring high above the quartet as they sang Lida Rose. |
