The Dapper Dans took up playing banjos (Neel and Bub already played) to perform a number
with "Banjo King" Pat Terry, Sr. and Pat Terry, Jr. on the Fantasyland stage.
This picture also appeared in an early 1970s issue of The Harmonizer, official
publication of SPEBSQSA, with the caption: How many's in your quartet? Neel also
sang in the popular show quartet Bunster Freely Quartet with Pete Neushel. They
developed a routine that involved 4 banjos and 4 trombones. Neel's brother Pete Tyree sang
with the SPEBSQSA International Champions of 1954, The Orphans. |
