Meredith Willson
October 1, 1971
The Dapper Dans sang "Lida Rose" for Meredith Willson backstage before the grand
opening festivities. At one point they had to be told to quiet down by the event
managers who said they could be heard onstage. Meredith also sang a song or two with
them backstage. One of his favorite songs was "Dear Old Girl," which he
would often burst into hoping those present might woodshed the harmonies with him. |
