Posing with young Thomas on the Main Street porch. In the early 1990s it was Shelby's idea to put small Disney characters inside the straw hats. This was a great way to help "break the ice" with small children. On February 16 and 17, 1996, the Dapper Dans (Jim, Bill, John and Tim Reeder (subbing for Shelby Grimm) were the featured quartet on the Desert Harmony Chorus (directed by Bette Gorton) of the Borrego Springs, CA Rotary Club annual show Borrego Sings.
