In the Upjohn Pharmacy. Gene Morford had done barbershop briefly in high school in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He also attended high school in Anaheim, CA with Ron Browne and Jim Schamp. Gene was in a college quartet, "Four of a Kind," with Ron Browne, Jim Schamp and his brother Allan Morford. Gene was a Dapper Dan from the summer of 1962 through late 1965 when he left to pursue a major career in the jingle and back-up singing business in Dallas, Texas and later Los Angeles. He has worked with Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers among others.
