On August 31, 1964, Disneyland took the Dapper Dans to sing at what was at the time called
"The Biggest Moment in Orange County Sports History," the ground-breaking
ceremony for the 24 million dollar Anaheim Stadium. On the podium in front of 4000 guests
and dignitaries, the Dapper Dans sang "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" with Mrs.
Jack Norworth, the widow (his 5th wife) of the composer. Mrs. Norworth was
presented with a lifetime pass to all Angels home games. Some of the dignitaries present
included owner Gene Autry, L.A. Mayor Sam Yorty, contractor Del Webb, Anaheim Mayor Odra
Chandler, Angels manager Bill Rigney, players Jim Fregosi and Del Rice and stars from the
Melodyland Theatre: Juliet Prowse, Patricia Wymore, Gogi Grant, Harv Presnell and Andy
