Disneyland Showtime

Airdates: March 22, 1970 and June 28, 1970

Cast: The Osmond Brothers, Kurt Russell, E.J. Peaker, Peter Bruni (Mr. Gridley),
Kids of the Kingdom, The Sound Castle, The Dapper Dans.

The opening of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland is the setting for this overview of the park’s musical attractions. The Osmond Brothers have returned to Disneyland to perform on an evening show in Tomorrowland. Kurt Russell is their host and emcee for the stage show. Donny gets separated from the group and goes on his own to explore the park. His brothers spend the day trying to find him so they can make their evening show on time. During the day they run into the barbershop quartet in a brief scene in front of Tomorrowland. The quartet sings the tag to "Coney Island Baby" in about 20 seconds of screen time.

This was filmed during a short period when there was not a Dapper Dans quartet at the park (the previous Dappers of Mahlon Schanzenbach, Doug Strawn, Don Lindstrom and Mike Gallup had retired and Bub Thomas’quartet had not yet arrived on the scene.) Therefore, technically they were not actually the Dapper Dans because they never performed at the park. Most likely they were individual singers that were hired specifically for this program. This show is included on the website because they were represented as being the Dapper Dans. We have been unable to identify these men as yet. If you recognize them, please let us know who they are.
