| The Clustered Spires Chorus of Frederick Maryland is a proud member of Sweet Adeline International, a non-profit, international singing organization for women. The Sweet Adelines organization was founded in 1945; our members are dedicated to education and training in the art of four-part harmony, barbershop-style, and to promote interest in and appreciation of our craft with the public. Sweet Adelines membership numbers approximately 30,000 women singing in over 660 chapters in ten countries, including Japan, New Zealand, and Sweden.
The Clustered Spires was organized in 1995, and in 2006 we have a revitalized and energized chorus under Robin Blythe, our dynamic new director. She has many years of experience singing and directing in both Sweet Adelines and S.P.E.B.S.Q.U.A. She is a certified director for both organizations.
We are a chorus of women who love to sing four part close harmony and have a zany sense of humor. We perform throughout the community from Gettysburg to Urbana.
The chorus has a tradition of inviting the general public to sing with us for Christmas and this past summer we conducted our rehearsals at the C. Burr Arts Library, inviting younger singers to join us. We had a marvelous experience!
