Robin Blythe

Anything worth doing is worth doing right is Robin Blythes credo. With a background directing womens choruses as a certified director, she also attained the title of Certified Director in SPEBSQSA by taking classes at Directors College, held in St. Joseph, Missouri and over the Internet. Her course of study included theory, directing, vocal production, sound management, judging, and the history of barbershop. There are over 650 mens barbershop directors enrolled in the program, and only 50 are certified, quotes Robin.
Robins previous twenty-five years of directing experience began with Sweet Adelines choruses, starting in Japan in 1980, then to Nashville, Portsmouth, Silver Spring and Baltimore. For the last five years she directed Hometowne USA, Rockville, Marylands barbershop chorus.
A music education graduate of James Madison University, she currently teaches music at St. Martins School in Gaithersburg from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Her schedule also includes classes in Language Arts, Study Skills, and Computer Technology.
