Janice DeCuir
1999 Harmonet Reporter

Janice was born into Barbershop, it having been the mainstay musical menu in her home growing up.  Dad Dwight was the first member to join the Thoroughbreds after it had chartered.  Mom Mary Jo directed, coached,  quarteted, coached, arranged, well, just about anything SA could offer.

Brothers (2 of 'em) joined the Thoroughbreds and put together a little  quartet and did pretty well for themselves.
[Editors note: See http://www.harmonize.com/bsu]

Jan first joined SA in 1974 at the age of fourteen.  She separated membership  for about six years as she started a family and jumped from Louisville, to Dallas, to Atlanta, and finally, home again to Louisville, Kentucky.  She has sung (unofficially) with Kentuckiana, and (officially) with Falls of the Ohio, Derby City Chorus, Pride of Kentucky and presently directs the Song of the Bluegrass Chapter in Lexington, Kentucky.

Janice lives in Louisville with husband of 18 years, David, and her two children, son Trevor and daughter Jessica.

Tech Support & Photographer

Although Jen is a relatively new member of Sweet Adelines, she jumped right into this "hobby" head-first! Since joining South Florida Jubilee Chorus in January 1998, she has become a bass  section leader, designed and implemented the chorus website,  and contributed to the creation of Region 9's website.  She has been a member of  the management team both years, as well as many other teams and committees, and is music chair for the chorus.  She and her husband, Brian, make their home in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
