Subject: The Ear-rangement: BRAVO!!!!!!!!

I want to be the first, among what should be the hordes, of Barbershoppers to tell you and all my singing brothers what INCREDIBLE and UNBELIEVABLY WONDERFUL JOY you and the crew have added to my love for Barbershopping. Everything about the package exceeded my expectations. The choices of song are wonderful because I didn't know one. Chris Arnold's singing and the recording quality are just so perfectly clean, clear and on the mark for "just laying down the melody." I particularly enjoyed the added pleasure of the historic liner notes too. I pity the Barbershopper who doesn't get the package! I know you guys worked very hard on this and I am really grateful for it. I can't wait to go to Baltimore and/or the next Ahsow room and get together with other guys who have purchased the package. Many thanks. I'll be sure to let everyone in my chapter know about the program. Yours in gratitude.

Subject: Wow!

Wow! You really outdid yourself with that fine Ear Training CD/folio! And such a step toward professionalism for our organization.

I ordered four copies on faith, and am glad I did. Now I'll have something in hand when I find a guy interested in something a bit more than just showing up in a dorm lounge or hotel room once a year and singing "Girl Of My Dreams" and "Let The Rest Of The World Go By".

So I guess I'm learning how durn MANY songs are out there! I was surprised to find I knew only one song on the new CD, but upon reflection that shouldn't be a surprise at all. I am really glad that you strove for songs that were NOT commonly known. The thumbnail histories were a bonus. Absolutely fascinating.

I also particularly appreciate the thoughtful discourse on harmony discovery and early barbershop history. Now I'm going to have to go back and reread your earlier paragraphs that you've written in AHSOW handouts to find the best evangelical message to steal and use. Maybe an amalgam.

Keep up the good work. Here's hoping we hear those songs being sung at AHSOW gatherings in the future.

The mailman delivered it just 1/2 hour ago. I've listened to it three times. Great song selection. I can't wait for our PVP to go on vacation in two weeks. He has asked me to replace him for two weeks. I will use a couple of these tunes to have our 70-man chorus woodshed them.

I just wanted to let you know that I love the Ear-rangement CD. I have been listening to it in the car on my way to and from work... it's perfect for me because no one has to hear me sing any "funny" notes. I actually sing lead in chorus but I have been singing tenor in a quartet. We are all leads so it's been fun trying different parts (I now know that I am not a bass - unless we pitch it up until the tenor is attracting dogs from all over). The CD is great for me because I tend to get too caught up on the written notes and I forget to harmonize and make it fit - oops! Also, my husband and I have been having a lot of fun woodshedding in the car (he isn't a barbershopper yet, but I haven't given up hope).

I will definitely recommend the package to my friends and other chorus members!!

TOP TEN REASONS WHY YOU OUGHT TO ORDER THIS PACKAGE -- NOW:

10) If you're new to authentic woodshedding, you can learn to sing melodies and practice adding harmonies in the privacy of your home, car, bathroom, back forty, tent...

9) If you can already woodshed a little, you can get even better by playing this recording and adding a Tenor or Bass part to each melody that you hear. (Eventually, you may even hear an implied Baritone... ooo!)

8) Even if you're already a good quartet singer, this package will help you improve your ear skills and your awareness of the melodic/harmonic factors that make GOOD Barbershop singing so exciting and rewarding.

7) This wonderful interactive harmony-discovery recording lets you go far beyond being a "spectator" (as with all the fine Contest and commercial recordings) and helps YOU become the champion.

6) Great "ear-singing" is an added dimension to the usual activities of singing tags or Barberpole Cat songs at conventions. Those who can ear-sing are in great demand.

5) Helps you learn to create harmonies yourself -- unrestricted by what an arranger has put on paper.

4) Expands your repertoire of timeless Barbershop melodies.

3) Mimicking the fine professional lead solos by Chris Arnold (of Quick Start Vocal Productions) will help you become a better singer.

2) This package makes a fine gift for the loved one, young singer, or music educator in your life (not to mention for yourself!).

1) By ordering now, you can have it in your hands for the holidays!
