Our Leadership

Director
Sunflower Harmony Chorus is under the direction of Susan Ives. Susan has been a member of Sweet Adelines International for more than 20 years. She has years of professional musical training, in jazz and classical styles, as well as barbershop. She holds a music education degree from Washburn University and teaches elementary school music in a Topeka school district. Her energetic teaching style and savvy for the eloquent interpretation of music are contagious. She makes every chorus rehearsal a unique opportunity to work, have fun and feel rewarded. Susan truly coaches this team on a mission of unity, in sound, mind and heart. Her insatiable hunger for our common goal, and her constant cheerleading make it impossible to stand still on the sidelines. With Susan leading us forward, every chorus member truly desires and passionately chases after self improvement and team performance.

Susan is a member of the 1998 Queens of Harmony, Classic Edition. She is also a member of the International 5th place quartet, Zing! Contact the director.

Associate Director
Associate Director is Janice Mohr. Janice is a baritone section leader as well as music team and visual team member who brings extensive knowledge of vocal production and kinesthetics to the stage for her warm-ups and on-stage performances. Janice also earned her education degree from Washburn University and substitute teaches for the Topeka school district. She is also a member of the quartet, Singsations! Assistant Director
Assistant Director is Pat Scrivner. Pat is a lead section leader who also actively participates in the visual and music teams. Pat is a former music teacher who now works at the administrative level for a Topeka school district. Contact the assistant director.
