About the Chorus

The Sunflower Harmony Chorus is a thriving, jiving, singing organization for women. But not only do we have a good time - each woman on our risers is dedicated to individual vocal performance improvement, and the chorus supports that goals by bringing in a vocal coach AND offering in-chorus Personal Vocal Instructions (PVIs) taught by our outstanding music team.

Sing with us and you will become a better singer. We'll make sure of it. We're coached individually and as a chorus by Darlene Rogers, Sweet Adeline expert and Vocal Coach extraordinaire!

The Chorus celebrated its 30th anniversary during 2006.Three of the charter members from 1975 are still playing active roles in the chorus - but since that time, nearly 75 other women have visited the ranks of Sunflower Harmony - and an additional 45 are members today.

The chorus medaled in 10 straight Regional competitions - and has even made two trips to International Convention and Competition together, Baltimore, MD in 1990 and Nashville, TN in 2002, as well as a trip to compete at the International Educational Symposium

Sunflower Harmony is known for its innovative choreography, heart-wrenching ballads and ground-breaking interpretations of well known folk and pop songs.

Favorite performances include "59th Street Bridge Song: Feelin' Groovy," by Simon and Garfunkel, "Raining Men," by the Weathergirls and "I Lift up my Head," by Dottie Rambo. See our Music section for more information about what beautiful notes and playful antics every single performance will include. Or click here to Join us at our next Monday night rehearsal.
