Welcome to the Gateway Edition website!

Gateway Edition is a barbershop quartet located mostly in Illinois with the exception of our Tenor, Matt, who is just on the other side of the Mississippi, in St. Louis, MO. Mike lives in Granite City and Steve and Ben reside in Belleville, IL.

This foursome first sang together, very informally, at the conclusion of a Belleville Sounds of Harmony rehearsal. We thought a few of the tags we did sounded good, and by the end of February, we were all ready to make it official. Thus, Gateway Edition was born.

The quartet is fortunate to have the support of two great choruses behind us. Steve, Ben and Mike sing with the 5-time Illinois District Small Chorus Champions, the Sounds of Harmony from Belleville, IL. Mike, Matt, and Steve are also long time members of the Ambassadors of Harmony from St. Charles, MO. We are very grateful for the support from both of these fine chapters.

Gateway Edition is a melting pot of entertainment.  Paying tribute to the barbershoppers before us, while paving the way for future generations.  We are influenced by the Classic Oldies and Doo Wop to the sweet cello sound of Yo Yo Ma.  We mix in some good old songs with some comedic relief.  These elements blend together to create an unforgettable sound that will leave audiences gasping for more...or for air, we're not sure.

Gateway Edition is a registered quartet with the Barbershop Harmony Society. You can learn more about that organization at www.barbershop.org.

You can also check us out at www.myspace.com/gatewayedition

Again, welcome to our site.  We hope you enjoy taking a look around and we look forward to entertaining you sometime!
