We are the 1972,1996, and 1999 Pioneer District Chorus Champions & 2002 Most Improved Chorus.

The Capitol City Chordsmen are the Barbershop Chorus of the Lansing Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (SPEBSQSA); this means we sing music in the Barbershop style.  The society is an international organization that is arranged in districts.  We are members of the Pioneer District, which consists of chapters located in Michigan and Ontario. Members of the Capitol City Chordsmen come from all over the Central Michigan Area.  The Capitol City Chordsmen aspire to excellence within the society, and we expect to execute every aspect of our craft in a quality way and while in the process, conduct ourselves so that we are a source of pride to our Society, our community, and our families.

Our activities include organized quartets, tag singing, woodshedding, socializing, and good fellowship, but we are all performers in the chorus with the responsibility of providing quality barbershop entertainment to our audiences.  Our chorus works continuously to improve our singing and presentation.  The chorus is a team, and like a team we can only excel when each member of the team performs very well.
